What do you get a 66 year old man for his birthday?
Owen and I were having a hard time coming up with a present for our dad. He turned 66 on February 9, and we decided instead of a book, clothing, or some other item that he probably doesn't need we would give him a memory. We took him snowshoeing in December and he really liked it so we decided to take him again for his birthday. So, February 12, we packed him and Susan up in their mini-van and headed up Poudre Canyon. We had great weather as we snowshoed on Blue Lake trail. After snowshoeing we took them out to "Nordy's" a BBQ restaurant in Ft. Collins and had a delicious meal of brisket, pork and chicken. They also have a noodle slaw side dish that was really good.

My life as a cheerleading coach
On Thursday there was a girls' basketball game that I stayed to watch at Highland where I am doing part of my internship. Anyway, when I taught at Highland I always sat with my two friends, Tammy and Anastasia, who are the cheer coaches. At Thursday game Anastasia was gone because her son was playing for the boys team. So, that left Tammy to supervise the girls while they cheered. Well, Tammy had a High School Rodeo Meeting to go to so she asked me to supervise the girls for about 20 minutes. So, for 20 minutes of my life I was a cheer leading coach. I taught the girls this really cool cheer. It goes like this. "Ready, okay. Let's get a little bit Rowdy. R-O-W-D-Y!"

Montgomery Pass
"Are we lost Owen?"

Owen and I decided we wanted to try snowshoeing up something a little more rigorous then Tie City. So, headed up Poudre Canyon to Cameron Pass. At Montgomery Pass there is a bowl that skiers and snowboarders were taking full advantage of. The powder was great and we wished we brought snowboards with us. Nonetheless we had a good time and were able to Summit.

This is shot looking down into the bowl.

Owen and I went straight down the bowl. You can see our trail along with the ski and snowboard trails.
