Doing a 180 on the I-80
Saturday morning I got up at 6:00 am to get ready for a track meet. When I headed out at 6:30 there was about 1.5 of snow on the ground. I called one of the other coaches to see if it was snowing in Ault. She said it was not snowing down south, so I started on my 45 min. commute to school to meet up with the rest of my team. Part of my commute is on the I-80 heading east. As I was traveling I noticed that the car in front of me, which was about 50 meters away start to slow down, so I did the same. All of sudden my car started sliding from one side of the road to the other. No matter what I did to counteract the sliding my car just whipped back and forth. I finally decided to just hit my brakes and let my car spin to a stop. Luckily there was no cars closely behind me. Well, my car did a 180 and then stopped. So, I turned it back on, turned around and was on my way. While I enjoy doing donuts (I recently had to buy a new tire because I wore one down doing donuts), I have to admit that it was a bit scary doing donuts on the interstate. I am grateful for the Lord watching over me.

Lost in Ault
During the summer the town of Ault has "Ault Days". Part of festivities are a 5k and 10k. I decided that my track distance runners would run the 10k on Wednesday. Having never done the complete loop myself, I figure we could just follow the spray paint directions on the road. I mean how hard is it to get lost in Ault. Well, this adventure took us off the main road and through a bunch of farms. When we finally reached a paved road I decided that we should turn left. One of the seniors quickly piped up, "But Ault is to the right". So, we ended running more than a 10k and I am one of the few that has to admit that I got lost in Ault.

Um....I got stuck behind a cattle drive

Yesterday we had a two hour delay because of icy roads. So, I turned off my alarm and enjoyed a little extra time to rest. Last night I forgot to reset my alarm and well my internal alarm woke me up at 7:41am instead of 6:00am. School starts at 8:15. Luckily, I have planning period first thing in the morning. With my 45 min. commute, I got to school at 9am. I did call ahead and tell them I was going to be late. The sweet secretary just said, "Well, be careful getting here." There are some perks at this job; even if they are small. Although, I could probably get away with the excuse illustrated in the picture.
